With the fall season and cooler temperatures upon us, it’s time for a new window design at Zoe Boutique. Susan, the owner of Zoe, usually gives us total control of the design process. This time, however, she requested we use the colors of cobalt blue, black and copper for the window.
We wanted to incorporate fall leaves and back-to-school for themes in this window. Here is the design we came up with; we think it’s one of our favorites.
From the above pictures you can see how we combined the leaf and color elements. The back-to-school theme was incorporated by using leaf shapes cut from pages of Webster’s New Collegiate Dictionary.
To bring in all the required colors, we spray painted some of the leaves cobalt blue-
Black was brought in using crepe paper-
and for copper we used these acorn ornaments-
Using the crepe paper, acorn ornaments and a piece of wire we put together flowerettes-
And attached the leaves with hot glue to create leaf bunches-
To hang the leaf bunches we used long arching branches, one in each window-
To add the illusion of twiggy branches coming off the main branch we used craft paper rolled around a strip of heavy duty wire-
We then twisted and bent the craft paper “twigs” to get the angle we wanted-
